Product Description
Lindemann Audio - musicbook: SOURCE°CD II - audio music player & streaming pre-stage
With the musicbook:SOURCE°CD, Lindemann Audio creates a universal music source that replaces the previous Musicbooks. On board are a full-fledged streaming preliminary stage, a DSD resampler and an integrated phono preamp. Streaming 4.0 "in studio master quality" is possible with the corresponding streaming services.
The first modification is instantly visible: a housing milled from solid aluminum. That way the design becomes even more conclusive and the value is appreciated. But the dimensions have remained the same.
But also inside quite a few changes have taken place. Beside a revised converter architecture and the built-in phone preamp, the new musicbook:SOURCE°CD offers another extra: the newly developed Lindemann streaming platform 4.0 for playing back studio master resolutions, Roon support and five different streaming services. Of course, with a stable, easy-to-use app for iOS and Android. Just to name a few of the numerous highlights!
Musicbook: SOURCE°CD II - the newest family member of the musicbook series
Lindemann audiotechnik GmbH decided to offer a version of the Lindemann - musicbook: SOURCE II - network music player with an integrated CD drive.
With the new Lindemann - musicbook: SOURCE°CD II - network music player, the options available are the already existing solutions from earlier years in the form of the Lindemann musicbook: 15 and Lindemann musicbook: 25 systems, with and without DSD in the name.
A modern slot-in drive is used here, so that the Lindemann - musicbook: SOURCE°CD II is ultimately also an outstanding audio CD player.
The control is simple, using the Lindemann app offered by Lindemann. Of course, content such as CD text is also displayed here, if available.
What is special is that with the new Lindemann - musicbook: SOURCE°CD II - network music player, the playback of CDs naturally benefits from the outstanding signal processing, above all the resampling to DSD, as well as the femto clock and the mono-mode DACs. This allows the user to rediscover his CDs in a completely new way.
Musicbook: SOURCE°CD from Lindemann Audio is now available in the second generation as musicbook: SOURCE°CD II.
The model has been carefully further developed and offers even more musical information with an enormous sense of timing and interaction. Sound quality at the limit of what is technically feasible!
Important to know: Despite considerable bottlenecks in the electronics market, the manufacturer Lindemann Audio continues to manufacture the musicbooks in series. Production for the next few years is assured! This works not least thanks to 100% Made in Germany.
Musicbook: SOURCE°CD II has been consistently developed - with a focus on the analog pre-stage. The headphone output now sounds even better and also drives headphones with 16 ohms. The manufacturer put even more effort into the further development of the firmware, in which the initial bug fixes and corrections ultimately became a completely new stack. The most important innovations are the implementation of Spotify Connect and TIDAL Connect.
There are also small and large new features, for example the elimination of the lip sync problem when connecting a TV set, network standby, fixed line output bypassing the analog volume control, volume control dB-linear in 80 steps, display the sample rate for digital inputs, select Spotify with the remote control without using the app and much more.
The new version of SOURCE°CD, the musicbook: SOURCE°CD II, with 1-bit re-sampling, the powerful sounding AKM converter modules and the further developed pre-stage, raises the sound bar for the best streaming DACs even higher.
By the way: With musicbook: SOURCE°CD II, Lindemann Audio will continue to rely on what are probably the best-sounding converter modules from AKM and the legendary 1-bit re-sampling process in the future, despite global delivery difficulties!
